The Learning Leadership Summit is coming up fast, on July 14th, and I can’t wait. The Summit — as the premier gathering of leadership-level learning, development, HR, and talent management professionals — is always special, but the 2016 edition takes things to a whole new level.

• 5 Chief Learning Officers will be on the same stage! In addition to an all-star panel of four Chief Learning Officers, we’ve just added another learning star to the Summit stage.  Our moderator will be Dr. Roz Tsai, Vice President of HR, Enterprise Learning, and Chief Learning Officer at Ecolab.You can read more about our All Star CLO panel here. The kind of insight, perspective, and vision these panel members bring to the Summit stage is unequaled.
• The Summit turns 10! We’re going to celebrate a decade of Learning Leadership Summits this year and it looks like we’ll do so with record participation. We’re very proud, and we’re looking forward to the next 10 years.
• The Learning Leader of the Year award turns 5. I can’t believe it, but this year the fifth winner will come to the stage to receive this award. We created this award in 2011 to recognize “a Midwest learning leader who has made exemplary contributions to their own organization and to the overall L&D community.” We’ve had a record number of submissions this year as well.

• The Summit has a bigger and broader audience. Word has spread about the Summit, and, in addition to the strong representation from all over the Twin Cities area, 2016’s Summit already has a record number of registrants from greater Minnesota and as far away as the Dakotas.

There are many new reasons to look forward to each year’s Summit, but after a decade one reason remains the same: This is the best way to meet and really enjoy the camaraderie of your peers in the L&D community. Which, in my book, counts for a lot.
