Thought Leader Series: December 2025

December 11, 2025 @ 9:30 am - 11:00 am
Free

As AI systems rapidly integrate into the learning ecosystem, the traditional Learning & Development (L&D) professional is evolving into a data-savvy, insight-driven change agent.
In this session,
Josh Cavalier introduces the Human Machine Performance Analyst (HMPA)—a hybrid role that fuses instructional design acumen with data science, people analytics, and AI literacy.

Grounded in the framework from the book Applying AI in L&D: From Platforms to Performance, you will explore how the HMPA role transforms raw learning data into actionable performance intelligence, orchestrates AI powered interventions, and continuously optimizes human machine collaboration for measurable business outcomes.

In this session, you will learn:

  • To define the purpose, scope, and key responsibilities of the Human Machine Performance Analyst
  • How to map the competency shift required for L&D professionals—moving from content creation to data driven performance orchestration
  • To identify critical data sources, AI tools, and ethical considerations that enable human machine performance analysis
  • To design a personal roadmap to transition (or guide a team) into the HMPA role, aligned with organizational strategy
