At the August 14 Intersect meeting about 50 of us got together to continue the discussion about using social media on public-sector websites. It can be a challenge to set up and maintain, but in many ways is definitely worth the effort.
We had three members facilitate our discussion, each from a slightly different perspective:
- Bob Filipczak of MNDOT – “Social Media Strategy = Just Do It”
- Stefanie Otterson of MNDNR – “No Reservations” – how Facebook helped navigate the recovery from the Great Reservations System Meltdown of 2012.
- Allen Sommerfeld of METC – “Dealing With Detractors”
Please note that the content of all presentations is the property of their authors and may only be reused with their permission.
Thanks again to Lucinda Plaisance and the Metropolitan Council for hosting, to our facilitators, and to everyone who participated. It was an excellent meeting.
Mark your calendars for our next meeting on Tuesday, November 13, 2:00-4:00pm. See you then.
