While perusing the backchannel of #devlearn from the 2015 Devlearn Conference, I came across this blog reference for a method to implement gaming as part of an overall learning strategy. I was drawn into the article by the conclusion the author reached about the statistics from the 2014 ATD survey: “Most organizations have never used games for learning before and plan to do it without help from a vendor.”

As a list of steps to follow, this blog provides some serious advice. It’s worth thinking through, as the steps apply to both a gaming strategy and as broader considerations within other learning strategies.  I found the best piece of advice in the blog was to stress the importance of not making a game for games sake, but rather to make it part of a larger, blended, learning experience.
